Beginner
For the complete beginner who has had no driving experience at all, it is recommended that your first lesson be two hours (although this is optional). There is a lot to cover on the first lesson. You will be taught where all the controls are, what their function is and the best way to use them.
Following this you will be taught how to steer, how to move off and how to use your brake. You will also be taught the MSM routine. As your lessons progress the full DSA syllabus will be covered and a record of your progress kept. Nervous pupils will be helped to gain confidence and feel relaxed.
Refresher
This course is designed for qualified drivers who may have been away from driving for some time, or perhaps just want to improve on specific areas such as parking, reversing, defensive driving, etc. You can take as few or as many as you require to help you to regain or develop your skills.
Motorway
Whether it is for holidays or just having to visit a different part of the country, most of us at some time or another will have to use motorways. Motorways are a completely different environment from where we learn to drive, so at first can seem quite daunting and to some very frightening. Woking School of Motoring strongly recommend that after passing your driving test you take up some motorway lessons.
Motorway lessons cover the following:
- Route planning
- How to use slip roads correctly
- Lane discipline and safe following distances
- What to do in an emergency, including personal safety
- Adverse weather conditions
- How to deal with road works
Motorway lessons are always conducted in two-hour sessions, so as to allow for sufficient time for travel.
